At Seven West Media, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We're looking for a People & Safety Intern to join our supportive team in Osborne Park, gaining valuable hands-on experience while completing your studies.

This part-time opportunity is being offered 3 days a week and ideal for a university student who is passionate about people, workplace culture, safety, and making a positive impact. You'll work alongside experienced HR and Safety professionals, contribute to meaningful projects, and develop practical skills that will set you up for future success.

Whether you're interested in Human Resources, People & Culture, or Workplace Health & Safety, this internship will provide real-world exposure across the employee lifecycle and workplace safety functions within one of Australia's leading media organisations.

About The Role

As our People & Safety Intern, you'll support the day-to-day operations of the team while helping to deliver a positive employee experience across the business.

A Typical Day May Include

  • Supporting employee onboarding, employment contracts, and HR documentation.
  • Gaining experience managing employee and compliance records through systems such as Workday.
  • Assisting with reporting and compliance activities, including training and safety data.
  • Responding to employee enquiries and supporting stakeholders across the business.
  • Maintaining internal communications, resources, and SharePoint content.
  • Coordinating logistics for team initiatives, events, travel, and regional support.
  • Contributing to People & Safety projects, continuous improvement initiatives, and administrative processes.

What You'll Learn

  • Human Resources and employee lifecycle processes.
  • Workplace Health & Safety and compliance practices.
  • HR systems and reporting tools, including Workday and Kineo.

About You

You're likely someone who:

  • Is currently studying Human Resources, Business, Psychology, Workplace Health & Safety, or a related discipline.
  • Has a genuine interest in building a career in People & Culture and/or Workplace Safety.
  • Is curious, motivated, and eager to learn.
  • Enjoys building relationships and helping others.
  • Has strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Communicates confidently with a range of stakeholders.
  • Can manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Takes initiative and isn't afraid to ask questions.
