As the firm continues to grow its regional footprint, they are seeking a Senior Accountant to take a leading role in managing a diverse client base, providing high-level advisory services, and supporting the continued growth of the practice.

THE ROLE

You will take ownership of business services and tax advisory responsibilities for a diverse portfolio of clients across a range of industries while providing mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members.

Key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Managing a varied client portfolio
  • Reviewing financial statements and income tax returns for all entity types
  • Providing strategic tax planning and business advisory services aligned with clients
  • Preparation and review of complex tax matters including Div 7A, CGT and FBT calculations
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for your client portfolio, building trusted long-term relationships
  • Identifying advisory opportunities and contributing to the growth of the firm through client referrals and cross-service opportunities
  • Liaising directly with the ATO and other regulatory bodies on behalf of clients
  • Reviewing the work of junior and intermediate accountants and providing guidance, mentoring and technical support
  • Supporting workflow management and assisting partners with complex engagements and client strategy
  • Developing strong, long-term client partnerships through consistent communication and trusted advice

ABOUT YOU

  • You will have at least 3+ years’ experience within an Australian public practice firm and demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills, as client interaction and team support are key components of the role.
  • Confident communicator across email, phone and in-person meetings
  • Strong technical knowledge across business services and taxation
  • CA/CPA qualified or nearing completion
  • Ambitious, proactive and committed to professional growth
  • Experience using Xero will be highly regarded
