About The Role

Our Corporate & Commercial team is seeking an Associate to join the team led by Megan Jongebloed, Chair of Cowell Clarke, whilst also working closely alongside Associate Director Anna Young.

This is an outstanding opportunity to work with two highly regarded corporate lawyers. Megan is recognised for her expertise in mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and advising organisations in the aged care, retirement living and not-for-profit sectors. Anna has a growing reputation advising charities and not-for-profit organisations, as well as supporting clients on complex commercial transactions and corporate projects across Australia and internationally.

You'll Gain Exposure To a Broad Mix Of Transactional And Advisory Work, Acting For ASX-listed Companies, Private Businesses, Charities And Not-for-profit Organisations On Matters Including

• mergers and acquisitions, business sales and acquisitions;
• commercial contracts and strategic commercial arrangements;
• corporate governance, restructures and compliance;
• advising charities and not-for-profit organisations on governance, ACNC compliance and commercial matters; and
• providing practical, commercially focused advice that supports clients' strategic and operational objectives.

Working directly with Megan and Anna, you'll have the opportunity to build strong client relationships, develop your technical expertise and work on sophisticated matters in a collaborative and supportive team.

About You

We're looking for an Associate with approximately 2–5 years' post-admission experience in corporate and commercial law who enjoys working closely with clients and delivering practical commercial advice.

To Be Successful In This Role, You'll Have

• experience advising on corporate and commercial matters, including commercial contracts and transactional work;
• strong drafting, analytical and problem-solving skills;
• a commercial mindset and genuine interest in understanding clients' businesses and objectives;
• excellent communication and relationship-building skills;
• an interest in working with clients across the aged care, health, not-for-profit and broader commercial sectors; and
• a proactive, collaborative approach and a genuine desire to continue developing your career.
