About the Role

Manningham Council invites expressions of interest from suitably qualified individuals with outstanding experience to undertake the role of independent member on its established Audit & Risk Committee (the Committee).

Council operates a diverse business portfolio, to meet the local community’s needs while complying with legislative requirements.

The Committee operates under a Charter in accordance with the Local Government Act 2020. As an advisory committee to Council, its role is to assist Council in fulfilling its responsibilities in relation to governance, risk and assurance and financial reporting. The Committee comprises three independent members and two Councillors.

This position will complement existing committee strengths, creating a diverse skill set. Council is seeking expressions of interest from individuals with specialist knowledge and professional qualifications to serve as an independent member of Council’s Audit and Risk Committee. The successful independent member will have local government experience with expertise in risk and assurance, public sector governance, internal audit and financial management.
