About The Role

The Product Information Specialist supports BYD Australia in the development of product information processes and procedures consistent with set policies to ensure that all products and services are accurately represented in the public domain.

The role provides technical administration and product knowledge support to internal teams and the dealer network, helping ensure vehicle information is accurate, consistent, and available for business operations, launches, reporting, bulletins, training, events, and customer-facing activities.

This role requires strong attention to detail, understanding of model hierarchies, experience in structuring master data to suit integration across platforms driving efficient business processes and the ability to interpret and explain technical information clearly.

  • Product Information Management
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date product and pricing master data across BYD and Denza models, variants, and future launches.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of product and pricing master data within internal systems, ensuring data consistency and minimal business disruption during new model introductions and model changeovers.
  • Ensure all technical records are accurate, standardised, and easily accessible for internal stakeholders.
  • Provide vehicle and pricing data to support stock ordering, registration, marketing, training, service preparation, technical bulletins, and business reporting.
  • Maintain, archive, and manage key business documentation including contracts, product bulletins, training materials, and operational records.
  • Support data preparation and submission for RAV, NEVDIS, NZTA, VFACTS, and other regulatory or industry reporting systems.
  • Assist in setting up model and variant data, including VIN information, vehicle descriptions, technical attributes, and system records.
  • Conduct data validation and cross-checking prior to system uploads, reporting, or business use.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to identify, investigate, and resolve data discrepancies.
  • Maintain and update technical reference data across key vehicle systems, including infotainment, ADAS, charging systems, drivetrain, lighting, tyres, wheels, brakes, glass, labels, accessories, and connected vehicle features.
  • Manage and continuously improve the specification and feature value database, collaborating with relevant teams to ensure alignment with current and future market requirements.
  • Support interpretation and summarisation of homologation and regulatory requirements, including ADR, ECE, NZTA, and other applicable standards.
  • Assist in escalating complex engineering, regulatory, and compliance issues to relevant specialist teams at headquarters (Mandarin communication required).
  • Collaborate with IT and cross-functional teams to define as-is and to-be processes for master data management.
  • Represent the Product team in global IT system projects, ensuring required data structures, fields, and workflows are correctly designed and implemented to support future business operations.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Information Technology, Business Management, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience working with technical product information, master data, or similar structured data environments.
  • Prior exposure to the automotive industry is highly desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage and maintain complex technical data accurately and consistently.
  • Strong communication skills in both English and Mandarin, with the ability to effectively collaborate across cross-functional and global teams.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities, with the capability to interpret technical and business data, identify trends, and support data-driven decision making.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to resolving data or system-related issues.
