About The Role

We're looking for a Senior Web Developer to lead the technical development of Quad Lock's global web properties. You'll drive development standards, technical decision-making and best practices, while mentoring junior developers and partnering closely with our e-commerce and marketing teams to deliver high-quality digital experiences.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys solving complex technical obstacles, improving development processes and building scalable, high-performing web solutions.

What You'll Do

Technical Ownership & Architecture

• Set and maintain the technical direction for Quad Lock's D2C and B2B Shopify ecosystem, including theme architecture, app integrations, and platform scalability
• Make and document architectural outcomes, balancing speed of delivery against long-term maintainability
• Own code quality standards across the team, including code review practices and testing expectations
• Identify and plan technical debt reduction alongside new feature work

Development & Delivery

• Guide development of new functionality and improvements across HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, and Liquid
• Maintain the Shopify ecosystem to ensure consistent site availability and performance for customers
• Optimise website theme code against site speed, accessibility, and search engine optimisation benchmarks
• Lead technical integration of new apps and features within the Shopify, Sanity CMS, and connected systems ecosystem
• Plan future development work based on internal feedback, technical research, and competitor research

Analytics & Optimisation

• Act as the primary technical partner for analytics & optimisation, building the tracking, tooling, and site functionality required to support behavioural reporting and AB testing
• Implement AB tests technically, ensuring tests are built to a standard that produces reliable, trustworthy results
• Brief and scope development work arising from behavioural insights, prioritising it against other technical priorities
• Flag technical constraints or opportunities that should inform analytics and optimisation strategy

Team Leadership & Process

• Manage the workload and task allocation of the Junior Developer, ensuring appropriate stretch and support
• Mentor junior team members, sharing knowledge of Quad Lock's systems, history, and technical decisions
• Continually improve and simplify development processes, including launch processes and release management
• Own the technical onboarding of new development team members

Cross-Functional Support

• Support retention and customer teams with tracking implementation and integrations with systems such as Zendesk and Klaviyo
• Collaborate with the operations and systems teams to manage new product launches and ongoing product data within Shopify and NetSuite
• Provide technical cover for critical website issues, including peak trading periods

What You'll Bring

• Strong experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, and Shopify Liquid
• Proven background in front-end website development at a senior or lead level
• Experience with Shopify's ecosystem, including theme development, apps, and admin processes
• GraphQL/REST API knowledge and experience with Node.js
• Strong Git proficiency and experience working as part of a structured development team
• Understanding of ecommerce customer behaviour and how technical decisions affect it
• Understanding of Search Engine Optimisation and accessibility concepts
• Prior experience mentoring or managing junior developers

Desirable:

• Experience with Sanity
• Experience with Zendesk theme development or similar customer service platform customisation
• Experience working with multilingual or multi-region ecommerce setups
• Familiarity with AB testing platforms (AB Tasty, Optimizely, VWO or similar) from an implementation perspective
