Curtin Medical School invites applications for the role of Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor (Professionalism Panel Lead). This position is pivotal in maintaining the integrity and alignment of the Professionalism Panels within the MBBS program. Working closely with Unit Coordinators, Domain Leads, Course Coordinator and students, this role is instrumental in ensuring our curriculum reflects the highest standards of professionalism and aligns with the Australian Medical Council (AMC) graduate outcomes.

This role plays an important part in supporting the governance and quality assurance of the MBBS program, with a particular focus on maintaining the integrity and effective functioning of Professional Behaviour and Registration Panels.
Key Responsibilities
- Panel Oversight and Documentation: Ensure that the MBBS Professional Behaviour and Registration Panels and processes are well-documented, function efficiently, and maintain exemplary record-keeping standards in a timely manner.
- Advisory Role: Provide crucial advice to the Associate Dean/Dean HOS/Course Coordinator regarding the outcomes of professionalism issues, influencing Board of Examiner decisions.
- Support for CMS Activities: Support various activities including ethics/medico-legal teaching/involvement in student selection for the MBBS course.
- The role will focus on maintaining impartiality in high-stakes decisions regarding student professionalism and making recommendations to the Board of Examiners.
- Working closely with the Course Coordinator/Unit Coordinators/Domain Leads/Senior Leadership/Curtin University teams, the position contributes to advice on professionalism-related student matters.
- Key aspects of the role include ensuring panels are well-coordinated, consistently documented, and supported by high-quality record keeping
About You
SELECTION CRITERIA
Our ideal candidate will demonstrate
- A medical degree qualification/ post graduate degree in health profession; PhD qualification (desirable)
- Current AHPRA registration as a medical/health practitioner and experience in the Australian health care system.
- Demonstrated experience in health/medical education with clear understanding and focus on professionalism, leadership, and ethical practices.
- Demonstrated experience in leading teams and strengthening connections with a reflective and innovative approach.
- Highly skilled communication and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on cross-cultural interactions and understanding.
- Demonstrated organisational skills (time, resources, self-management)
- Demonstrated experience in written skills (production of detailed reports, clear documentation of processes)
Role Requirements

This Part-time (0.2FTE) position attracts a remuneration package of $ 144,512 - $166,354 (ALC) / $ 173,635 - $191,099 (ALD) + *Clinical Loading + 17% Super (Pro-rata).
