Role description
We are currently looking for an experienced Civil Structures Technical Director to join our Structural and Geotechnical team in Queensland. This is an exiting opportunity to join a team that is growing due to consistent growth in our Queensland workload, with the opportunity to support projects in the other Australian states and internationally.
Role accountabilities
- To provide technical leadership to the Queensland Civil Structures team, and to mentor and promote the technical development of its team members;
- To hold technical leadership roles on complex infrastructure projects across the road, rail, ports and energy sectors, providing guidance to the delivery team, managing technical risk and ensuring high quality deliverables;
- To develop and maintain strong relationships with clients in the public and private sector, in order to strengthen our pursuits and sales efforts;
- To use industry knowledge and contacts to identify project opportunities and areas for team growth;
- To assist in the development and the implementation of the local and national civil structures team strategy;
- To collaborate with the other Civil Structures teams in the region and other Arcadis offices to support sales, bidding and project delivery;
Qualification & Experience
First and foremost, you share our passion for improving the quality of life. You are a highly regarded, degree qualified civil structures engineer with a proven ability to lead people and projects, and to mentor and develop engineers and professionals at all levels.
You will come to us with:
- Over 15 years of experience in engineering design consultancies;
- Extensive experience in the delivery of large scale, complex infrastructure projects;
- A strong technical background in civil structures, namely bridges, cut and cover tunnels and retaining walls;
- Proven ability to lead a team, with good influencing, motivating and delegation skills;
- Knowledge of the Department of Transport and Main Roads technical requirements, with the knowledge of other state requirements an advantage;
- A strong industry presence with existing relationships with contractors and government clients;
- Effective communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels, both internally and within the industry;
