Program Officer

Tamworth | Permanent 12-month contract | Hours Negotiable
HealthWISE is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Program Officer to support mental health intake and triage across the New England North West region. This role is available in Tamworth and offers flexibility in our other NSW offices for the right candidate.
As the first point of contact for referrals, you will assess risk, plan for safety, and help connect people with the support they need. This role is key in ensuring people living with moderate to severe mental illness are guided toward recovery-focused services.
About The Role
- Triage referrals and complete risk and safety assessments
- Provide intake services across HealthWISE's Wellbeing programs
- Support communication between clients, referrers, and internal teams
- Work within a stepped care and person-centered mental health model
- Support demand management and reporting processes
About You
- Certificate IV in Mental Health (or equivalent)
- Experience in intake, triage, and safety planning
- Understanding of mental health services and referral pathways
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable using digital systems and telehealth platforms
- Able to work collaboratively and independently
Work Location Options: This role is available in Tamworth office.
