The Role
Due to growth, a great career opportunity has arisen for an Associate or Senior Associate to join our Insurance team in Sydney. You will be working with leading insurance partners across a range of litigation matters in the area of Professional Indemnity, Medical Negligence and General Liability. Your expertise and dedication will help protect our clients' interests and ensure fair resolutions in complex legal matters. Our team has been acknowledged for its leading position in the Australian market, working with most of the major insurers in Australia.
File management including meeting deadlines and managing documents;
Reviewing evidence and preparing advices on indemnity, liability and quantum;
Communicating with clients both in writing and verbally;
Identifying issues, briefing experts and analysing opinion;
Preparing court documents, including defences and affidavit evidence;
Drafting correspondence and communicating with other practitioners;
Preparing for, managing online processes and appearing in Court;
Briefing and liaising with counsel; and
Staying updated on industry regulations, case law, and emerging trends in professional indemnity law.
Who We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will
Have between 3-8 years’ experience in insurance litigation in the areas of professional indemnity and general business liability
Have a proven track record of providing advice on indemnity issues
Be self-sufficient in successfully managing a busy litigation practice whilst working in a supportive team environment
Understand the importance of meeting client and court deadlines
Provide advice based on exceptional analytical, research and problem-solving skills
Be able to articulate complex legal concepts clearly and concisely
Demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills and a client-service focus.
