Tech Lead

Technical Team Lead | C#/.NET | AI-Driven SaaS Platform | Sydney

We're partnering with an established global SaaS business to find a Technical Team Lead to help build and lead a brand-new engineering team in Sydney.

This is a genuine hands-on leadership role where you'll spend the majority of your time coding, shaping architecture, and setting engineering standards while working on the localisation of an AI-powered workforce management platform.

If you enjoy solving complex technical problems, leading by example, and building products from the ground up, this is an outstanding opportunity.

What you'll be doing

• Lead the technical direction for a newly established engineering team.
• Remain hands-on with C#/.NET development, code reviews and solution design.
• Design scalable backend architecture, APIs and distributed systems.
• Drive engineering best practices and modern software delivery.
• Champion the use of AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code to improve engineering productivity.
• Work closely with Product, Design and an established UK engineering team.
• Mentor a small team of engineers while remaining technically focused.

What we're looking for

• Extensive commercial experience with C# and .NET (.NET Core/.NET 8).
• Strong background designing scalable backend systems, APIs and cloud-based applications.
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases, microservices and modern architecture patterns.
• Exposure to Azure and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence technical decisions.
• Experience with React and TypeScript is advantageous but not essential.

This is a full time role, base in Sydney with hybrid working arrangements (3 in office).

Salary ranges dependant on candidates experience
