As a General Manager, Regulatory Strategy and Engagement, you'll step into a pivotal leadership role, shaping how we interpret, respond to, and influence the evolving regulatory landscape.
You'll act as a trusted advisor across the organisation, guiding strategic decisions with clear regulatory insight while building strong, constructive relationships with regulators. Working closely with Risk, Compliance, Legal, and business leaders, you'll ensure regulatory expectations are understood, embedded, and aligned to our broader strategy.

This role is a permanent opportunity and is based in Brisbane, Sydney, or Melbourne.
Responsibilities
Day to day, you'll:
- Lead and execute ART's enterprise regulatory strategy aligned to business goals.
- Provide expert interpretation of legislative, prudential, and regulatory requirements.
- Build and maintain strong, transparent relationships with key regulators.
- Oversee regulatory engagement, submissions, and consultation responses.
- Guide and influence regulatory change readiness across the organisation.
- Provide high-quality regulatory advice to the Board and Executive.
- Partner with Risk, Compliance, Legal, and business leaders to embed obligations.
- Influence strategic decisions by integrating regulatory considerations.
- Develop and lead a high-performing regulatory team.
- Promote a culture of regulatory accountability and professionalism.
Qualifications
It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:
- You hold tertiary qualifications in Law, Risk, Finance, Business or a related field.
- Your experience includes senior leadership in regulatory affairs within financial services or a similarly regulated environment.
- You'll bring a deep understanding of Australian regulatory bodies such as APRA, ASIC, ATO, and AUSTRAC.
- You're highly skilled in regulatory strategy, interpretation, and engagement.
- You have experience advising Boards and Executive Leadership Teams.
- Your stakeholder management and influencing skills are exceptional.
- You've led through periods of significant regulatory change.
- You're familiar with superannuation and insurance regulatory frameworks.
- You'll bring experience in a senior regulatory or Responsible Manager capacity.
