About the role

Join a major government technology program that is transforming how transport operations are monitored and managed across Queensland. You'll develop cloud-based solutions that unlock the value of operational data, improve incident response, and support smarter decision-making for one of the state's most significant transport initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver cloud-based applications for data processing and analytics within an AWS environment.
  • Collaborate with project teams, architects and technical SMEs to deliver secure, scalable solutions.
  • Build prototypes and production-ready applications that solve real business challenges.
  • Produce clear technical documentation to support ongoing maintenance and future enhancements.
  • Follow government standards, security requirements and industry best practices.

Highly desirable criteria

  • Extensive development experience across Cloud, IoT or Operational Technology environments.
  • Strong capability with Python, C#, Linux scripting and SQL.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services including Lambda, S3, EC2, Kinesis and API Gateway.
  • Experience with Snowflake and modern data architecture.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across technical and business stakeholders.

Desirable criteria

  • Experience within complex enterprise or government environments.
  • Knowledge of secure application development and cloud architecture.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to established platforms and technical standards.

Skills and experience

  • Proven software development experience across cloud-based solutions.
  • Strong understanding of data integration, databases and application interfaces.
  • Experience delivering high-quality, supportable applications within Agile project teams.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into practical technical outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
