Business Analyst Workforce System Uplift

Location: Brisbane CBD (Hybrid - 60% in office / 3 days per week)
Contract Length: Immediate start through to 30th June 2027
Rate: $900 - $1,050 per day (inclusive of Super)
About The Organisation
Our client is a prominent Queensland public sector agency undergoing an exciting phase of enterprise-wide transformation. Having defined a comprehensive People & Culture Strategy (2026-2028), they are now executing a critical workforce technology modernisation to establish a single source of truth for their workforce data.
About The Role
We are seeking an experienced
Business Analyst to support the delivery of a major
Workforce Systems Uplift initiative. This role is vital in transitioning the organisation from a legacy, payroll-focused Aurion environment to a modern, integrated Human Capital Management (HCM) platform.
You will play a critical role in progressing the initiative from the Plan phase through to implementation readiness, bridging the gap between business stakeholders, People & Culture, and digital delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Requirements & Traceability: Lead requirements elicitation across six P&C service areas (including recruitment, onboarding, payroll, and reporting), refine the existing BRD, and maintain the Requirements Traceability Matrix.
- Process Design & Transformation: Analyse and document current-state HR processes (mapping manual workflows like PDFs, DocuSign, and SharePoint) and design future-state, automated workforce processes.
- Solution & Vendor Engagement: Support the evaluation of SaaS-based HCM options, translate business requirements into functional specifications, and participate in vendor solution validation.
- Data & Integration: Define data structures, support the development of a data migration strategy, and identify key integration points between the HCM platform and Aurion payroll.
- Testing & Readiness: Define test scenarios and acceptance criteria, coordinate UAT activities with business SMEs, and support change management and onboarding workflow readiness.
What We Are Looking For
- Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst on HRIS, HCM, or large-scale workforce transformation initiatives.
- Strong technical capability in requirements elicitation, process modelling (BPMN), and user story/backlog development within Agile or hybrid environments.
- Proven experience working with enterprise systems, data structures, system integrations, and data migration.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills, with the ability to act as a key liaison between business units and ICT.
Desirable
- Direct experience with Aurion HR/Payroll and/or SaaS-based HCM platforms (e.g., ELMO).
- Prior experience within the Queensland Government or a similar regulatory public sector environment.
