Incident Management and Governance Specialist

Australian Retirement Trust

Take hold of a monster opportunity and join Australian Retirement Trust as our Incident Management and Governance Specialist, where you'll shape how incidents are governed, reported, and continuously improved across the organisation. You'll play a key role in strengthening risk maturity, enhancing frameworks, and partnering with stakeholders to deliver best-practice outcomes.

We're all about helping our members make the most of their money. And while they go after their goals, you can too. As a Incident Management and Governance Specialist, you'll take ownership of our incident and breach reporting framework, ensuring it aligns with regulatory requirements and industry best practice. You'll work across risk, compliance, legal and operational teams to embed efficient processes, strengthen governance, and uplift organisational capability.

You'll play a central role in facilitating the Incident Review Committee, ensuring decisions are tracked, actions are delivered, and governance standards are upheld. You'll also lead improvements in systems, controls, and reporting to ensure our approach to incident management is consistent, effective, and forward-looking.

This role is a 6 month fixed-term opportunity and can be based in Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne.

Responsibilities

Day to day, you'll:

  • Maintain and continuously improve incident and breach reporting policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the Incident Review Committee, including coordination, paper quality review, and action tracking.
  • Design, implement and refine incident management processes and controls across the organisation.
  • Manage and optimise incident management systems to support governance and reporting.
  • Lead initiatives to uplift incident management capability and risk maturity.
  • Ensure administrative processes are efficient, documented, and consistently applied.
  • Deliver training and guidance to business units on incident management requirements.
  • Build strong partnerships across Risk, Compliance, Legal and operational teams.
  • Oversee the delivery of ad hoc incident reporting and insights.

Qualifications

It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:

  • You bring significant experience in risk, compliance, governance or incident management within a regulated environment.
  • Your ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements and frameworks is well developed.
  • You'll have strong governance experience, including supporting and coordinating management committees.

  • You demonstrate strong organisational skills and can manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Your stakeholder engagement skills allow you to build trusted relationships across diverse teams.
  • You hold tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce or a related discipline.
  • You'll have experience working in financial services or a similarly regulated industry.
  • You're familiar with breach reporting obligations and regulatory expectations.
  • You bring experience in process improvement or risk maturity uplift initiatives.
  • You'll have exposure to reporting tools such as Power BI or similar platforms.
