Finance Business Partner

Our client is a large, complex and well known organisation with a great reputation and culture. We are looking for a proactive finance professional to provide strategic financial leadership, project accounting expertise and high-quality advisory services to support project leaders and business units in delivering compliant, effective and well-managed funded activities. This role helps to ensure strong financial governance, effective project cost management and continuous improvement across finance operations.

About The Role

You will act as a trusted financial advisor to project leaders, providing strategic input into financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting and compliance. You will support both operational delivery and strategic decision-making across a dedicated business unit, while contributing to broader financial strategy and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial advice to project leaders to support compliant cost management, funding utilisation and decision-making.
• Contribute to the development of financial strategies, budgets, forecasts and business cases for a dedicated business unit.
• Deliver end-to-end project accounting support including financial planning, analysis, reporting and variance management.
• Ensure effective integration between advisory and transactional finance services, supporting compliant processing and review of financial transactions.
• Maintain accuracy and integrity of financial records through review, correction and oversight of project and operational accounting activity.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives aligned with client objectives and broader organisational strategy.
• Escalate complex financial or compliance issues to senior stakeholders as required.
• Ensure adherence to financial governance, policies and compliance frameworks.
• Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, acting as a trusted financial advisor to senior leaders.
• Provide financial input into procurement activities, including budgeting, business case development and value-for-money analysis.

About You

You are a detail-oriented and commercially minded finance professional who thrives in a complex, stakeholder-rich environment. You bring a strong technical accounting capability, excellent communication skills and the ability to translate financial data into clear, actionable advice.

You are comfortable working across both operational finance processes and strategic advisory work, with a strong focus on governance, compliance and continuous improvement. Ideally you will be part qualified.
