The Opportunity
Due to a team member taking up a secondment opportunity within the Catholic Education Office, we are seeking a Human Resources Systems Officer to join our HR Systems team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong interest in HR systems who is keen to broaden their experience and progress their career in a fast-paced and supportive environment. While significant HRIS experience is not essential, some understanding of a HR, payroll or similar business system will be highly regarded. The successful candidate will bring curiosity, a positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and a genuine eagerness to learn and grow.
Reporting to the HR Systems Lead, the Human Resources Systems Officer provides timely and professional advice and support relating to Dayforce, CESA’s Human Capital Management system. As an integral member of the HR Systems team, this role supports system users, assists with training and troubleshooting, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives and efficiencies across the HR system.
This is a full-time, contracted position until 31 December 2027, working at the Catholic Education Office.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a first point of contact for general HR System enquiries, providing timely advice and support to users across CESA.
- Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for issues that arise within Dayforce, helping users navigate the system effectively and confidently.
- Support the development and delivery of training programs, user guidance and collateral for operational teams.
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of key HR System documentation, including process maps, business requirements, functional specifications and supporting materials.
- Develop, maintain and assist with reports and data analysis using Dayforce, Microsoft Excel and other relevant tools to support informed decision making.
- Work closely with HR, Payroll and ICT teams to support accurate data management, system controls, integrations and process improvements.
- Support data auditing and governance activities to maintain data integrity and confidentiality of HR information.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance HR processes, system functionality and user experience.
About You
You will bring a genuine interest in HR systems, a willingness to learn, and the motivation to develop your career in a collaborative and service-focused team environment.
- A strong interest in supporting HR systems and improving the way people use HR technology.
- Experience using, supporting or administering a HR system, payroll system or similar business system is encouraged; significant HRIS experience is not essential.
- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to respond to user queries in a professional, helpful and solutions-focused manner.
- Sound attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records, documentation and system data.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with an interest in building skills in reporting, data analysis and system documentation.
- An ability to troubleshoot issues, ask questions, learn quickly and contribute to practical solutions.
- A collaborative working style, with the ability to build positive relationships with HR, Payroll, ICT, schools and broader CESA stakeholders.
- A commitment to confidentiality, data integrity and working in accordance with CESA policies, procedures and values.
- A relevant qualification in Human Resources, business, information systems or a related discipline and/or relevant experience is desirable.
