We are seeking a Demi Chef/Cook to join our team in Darwin NT.
Our ideal candidate will be

- An organised, computer literate, admin capable, and pro-active person, who can think on their feet, problem solve during high pressure situations, and delegate tasks efficiently to improve operations.
- Confident, professionally presented, proud to represent our company, enjoys coaching and performance managing a diverse team, and has excellent negotiating skills.
- A person with hands-on experience in a similar role, safely operating kitchen equipment, Inducting and training staff to safely use equipment, knowledge of WH&S best practices, and strong knowledge of food hygiene best practices.
- A people lover who will enjoy working in a diverse team and helping shape their department, leading Elements’ bistro to greater success.
- Reporting to the Head Chef, responsible for all aspects of this busy kitchen, you will help create menus, plan and execute food services for large events, stock control consistently, ensure wastage is kept to an absolute minimum at all times, maintain strict adherence to all health and safety requirements and oversee the smooth running of service, delivering quality meals in a timely and organized manner.
This role requires
- Previous Cook/Chef experience in a hands-on leadership role
- Knowledge of food style and presentation.
- Creative approach to food and a passion for your trade.
- The ability to be consistent and produce high-quality food.
- Experience with catering for large functions and events.
- Flexibility in working a 7-day roster, early starts and evenings.
- Out-of-the-box thinker who likes to challenge the norm.
- Registered Food Safety Certificates and other relevant qualifications.
- Smile in the face of adversity and set an example for the rest of the team.
- Be able to interact with guests and deliver great customer service.
- Experience with creating efficient menu’s, controlling waste, and a successful track record achieving excellent COGS percentages will be highly regarded.
