As a Finance Business Partner - Retail Operations, you will effectively partner with the Store Operations State Leadership teams across both of our major retail banners, BWS and Dan Murphy's.

Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, Retail Operations, this role leverages commercial acumen to drive performance for the State, using data to drive impactful decision making and improvements in retail performance.

You will also be a key partner in optimising critical spend across the retail network, identifying opportunities in the fixed and variable cost base.

Here’s a snapshot of the Finance Business Partner - Store Operations responsibilities:

• Provide financial leadership and commercial recommendations to the State leadership teams to drive growth in like-for-like sales, profitability, and operational excellence.
• Lead the planning, preparation, and review of store budgets while securing clear engagement and buy-in from the leadership teams.
• Deliver accurate, timely, and insightful monthly performance reviews and ad hoc analyses—covering store formats, demographic cohorts, categories, and channels—to drive business actions.
• Lead deep dives into new and existing competitors to achieve better commercial outcomes for our store network.
• Lead the broader Retail business Store Incentive Program by establishing targets, tracking performance against KPIs, and collaborating with the Performance & Reward team.
• Take responsibility for end-to-end financial compliance, including month-end, robust accruals, forecasts, and risks and opportunities (R&O) tracking.
• Provide coaching, mentoring, and leadership across the Endeavour finance and broader Operations teams.
• Proactively lead cross-functional activities, optimize ways of working, and continually identify and implement process improvements.

What do we need from you

Now let’s talk about you:

• 7+ years of progressive finance experience and are ideally CA/CPA qualified.
• Proven retail or FMCG sector expertise is required, with a deep understanding of commercial and operational drivers.
• You possess strong commercial acumen and a proven track record of effective business partnering to drive growth, optimize costs, and influence decision-making across a large-scale retail store network.
• Advanced proficiency in financial systems like SAP, TeamOne, IBM, and Excel , alongside exposure to technology or digital environments where you can translate data insights into financial outcomes.
• You demonstrate strong, impactful communication skills, with a capability to synthesize complex financial data and make the complex simple for senior audiences.
• You exhibit advanced time management and prioritization skills while delivering simple, structured, accurate, and robust outputs.
• You are a collaborative peer who acts on complex decisions, coaches others, and builds a culture of trust and inclusion.
