For over 25 years, Mental Health Australia has advocated for mental health reform, and we continue to drive policy changes and proactively put mental health on the agenda.

We have over 150 members, including service providers, professional bodies, organisations representing people with mental health challenges and their families, carers, and kin, researchers, and state and territory peak bodies.As the national peak for mental health, we unite the mental health sector to present a cohesive voice to government, and provide practical policy solutions to influence decision-making, which in turn, improves the mental health system and the mental health of people in Australia. We work to strengthen the impact and influence of the mental health sector and embed a human rights approach across the mental health system.

The role

This is an exciting new role that will be critical in strengthening Mental Health Australia's capacity to deliver high-quality, fee-for-service offerings that support both sector capability and organisational sustainability.

This position works directly with the Director, Programs and Sector Development, establishing the foundations for diversifying income in a way that aligns with our purpose as the national peak body for the mental health sector, our values, and our commitment to strengthening the sector. You will play a vital part in expanding our impact by building the capability and capacity of the mental health sector through high-quality training, facilitating peer learning opportunities and partnerships.

Blending strategic thinking with practical delivery, you'll lead relationship management, business development, and service coordination to ensure the activities we deliver are accessible, effective, and contribute to our financial sustainability.

The position also provides leadership to a Strategic Project and Growth Project Officer, supporting the delivery of key initiatives, including sector collaboration and capacity-building activities that will make a real difference.
