Support the implementation of Safety Management Systems for the establishing of a mining site in the NT!

Your new company

Our client, an Australian-owned Mining company, is recruiting a talented HSEQ Advisor to support establishing activities on a mining site in the Northern Territory.

Your new role

You will be responsible for supporting the review, update and implementation of the organisation and their Contractors' Safety Management Systems and procedures. You will assess and monitor critical risks, perform workplace inspections and audits, prepare and review documentation, and support incident prevention and response. This is a full-time Temporary role for an expected duration of 2 to 3 months, with a standard working week Monday to Friday (10-hour days), based in the Darwin region.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Review, update and prepare HSE Plans, Risk Assessments, SWMS, JSAs, and Permits to Work for multiple mining activities.
  • Support the mobilisation and set-up of the Mining Contractors and the Process Plant team by reviewing the associated HSE documentation and partnering with them to meet the company's safety standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and Safety audits.
  • Support the development of new policies and procedures as the HSE team continues to be established.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant WHS legislation, Codes of Practice, Australian Standards, client requirements, and company policies.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience in a HSEQ Advisor or Officer role, ideally within the mining or heavy industry sector in Australia.
  • Proficient with digital HSE systems and Microsoft Suite.
  • Incident investigation capability (e.g., ICAM) is desirable.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
