Shape the Contracts Behind Remote Energy Projects
Horizon Power is delivering a portfolio of energy infrastructure projects across some of the most remote parts of Western Australia. This is a newly created role where you will lead how we structure, negotiate and manage project contracts - setting the commercial foundations that enable safe, reliable and sustainable energy services for remote communities.
As Project Contracts Lead, you will sit at the centre of our project teams, partnering closely with Project Managers, technical specialists and procurement to shape how projects are brought to market, negotiated and managed for success. This is not a standard contracts role. You’ll apply strong commercial judgement to balance risk, market capability and delivery realities designing contracting models that work in complex and remote settings.
Your role in action
You will act as the SME for infrastructure construction and service contracts across project development and delivery.
- Own the Division’s project contracting suite, embedding clear commercial standards, risk allocation principles and governance across projects, aligned to corporate standards.
- Shape commercial strategies for projects from early development through procurement, including market engagement, EOIs and tender processes.
- Lead complex contract negotiations, ensuring balanced and practical commercial outcomes, and risks are managed.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Procurement and Legal to ensure alignment and consistency.
- Support contracts through to award and provide targeted commercial support during delivery to safeguard negotiated outcomes.
What you’ll bring
- Experience in commercial contracts, procurement or deal structuring within infrastructure, energy or capital projects.
- Strong understanding of contract structuring, risk allocation and how commercial frameworks support project delivery
- Sound judgement in balancing risk, market capability and deliverability in non-standard or constrained environments.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work across diverse teams.
- Tertiary qualification in Law, Commerce, Business, Engineering or similar, with a strong preference for a legal background (candidates without a legal degree must demonstrate relevant energy construction, legal or contract law experience).
