Our team is growing, and we're looking for an experienced

Farm Mechanic to join our Mechanical Workshop team on a full-time basis in Emerald, QLD. This role reports to the Regional Farming Manager.

About The Role

As a Farm Mechanic, you will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of agricultural machinery, light vehicles, heavy vehicles, and equipment that support our farming operations. You will be responsible for preventative maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, breakdown response, and ensuring all machinery is operating safely and efficiently.

This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. You'll work both independently and collaboratively with farm and workshop teams to minimise downtime and keep operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on farm machinery and vehicles;
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults across a range of equipment;
  • Respond to breakdowns promptly to minimise operational downtime;
  • Complete maintenance records, job cards, and service documentation accurately;
  • Record labour, parts, and consumables used during maintenance activities;
  • Monitor and report parts and inventory requirements;
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment;
  • Adhere to all workplace health and safety procedures and safe work practices; and
  • Build positive working relationships with farm operators, managers, and fellow team members.

About You

You are a qualified mechanic who enjoys problem-solving, takes pride in quality workmanship, and thrives in a fast-paced agricultural environment. You are safety-focused, reliable, and able to work autonomously while supporting a collaborative team culture.

You Will Bring

  • Trade qualification in Automotive Mechanical Technology (Light Vehicle and/or Heavy Vehicle) or equivalent;
  • Experience servicing and repairing agricultural machinery, plant, light vehicles, heavy vehicles, or mobile equipment;
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills;
  • Experience using workshop diagnostic equipment and maintenance systems;
  • Sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements;
  • Strong organisational and time management skills;
  • Ability to work independently and proactively;
  • Relevant Vehicle A/C Qualification would be advantageous;
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship; and
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work within a diverse team environment
