Unique opportunity to deliver the planning, design and delivery of activity centres, parks and play spaces and lead the delivery of the new Open Space Strategy.
- We’re seeking an experienced, strategic and design-led professional to lead a high-performing team shaping Manningham’s public realm and open spaces.

About the Role
As Coordinator City Design, you will lead a team responsible for the planning, design and delivery of Council’s public realm and open space projects, including activity centres, parks and play spaces.
This includes:
- Leading the development and implementation of the new Open Space Strategy
- Overseeing the design and delivery of parks, play spaces and public realm improvements
- Implementing the Vibrant Villages action plan through the delivery of high-quality urban design and support placemaking program
- Integrating land use and open space planning, landscape architecture and community needs into project delivery
- Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver coordinated, place-based outcomes
- Leading the open space land acquisition program to support the growing community
- Being part of a forward-thinking organisation focused on innovation, design excellence and community outcomes
- Having sound interpersonal skills and who values partnerships and collaboration
You will bring a strong balance of strategic thinking, design leadership and delivery capability.
Skills and Experience
- Tertiary qualification in Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, or a related discipline
- Demonstrated experience in delivering public realm, open space and activity centre projects
- Strategic thinker with the ability to drive strategic planning
- Strong understanding of placemaking principles and urban design outcomes
- Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams and complex project portfolios
- Ability to collaborate and influence across internal and external stakeholders
- Experience working within local and/or state government environments
- Strong community engagement experience, particularly on place-based and design-led initiatives
