We are partnering with a leading industrial organisation to source an experienced Environment Specialist to support the delivery of environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives across its operations.
Working within a collaborative Environment team, you will champion the organisation's Environmental Management System (EMS), provide technical advice to operational teams, and build strong relationships with regulators, industry representatives and community stakeholders. This is a varied role where you'll contribute to environmental governance, compliance, risk management and continuous improvement while supporting day-to-day operations and future projects.
This contract position will run through until the end of 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and continuously improve the Environmental Management System through audits, inspections and system reviews
- Provide environmental advice to operational teams, ensuring compliance with legislation, approvals and internal standards
- Support incident investigations, emergency response activities and environmental reporting requirements
- Develop and deliver environmental procedures, training, awareness programs and operational documentation
- Monitor environmental risks and compliance obligations, ensuring they are effectively integrated into business processes
- Liaise with regulators, contractors, industry groups and community stakeholders on environmental matters
- Support environmental monitoring programs and contribute to achieving sustainability objectives across the organisation
About You
- Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Natural Resource Management or a related discipline
- Experience implementing or maintaining Environmental Management Systems, ideally aligned with ISO 14001
- Sound understanding of environmental legislation, approvals and compliance requirements within an industrial, infrastructure, mining, energy or manufacturing environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across operational teams and external stakeholders
- Experience in environmental auditing, incident investigations, environmental monitoring or risk management will be highly regarded
- Current C Class Driver's Licence
