Join our Parent and Adolescent Counselling Service where you will provide a person-centred counselling service to young people and their families. You will explore new and more effective ways for family members to communicate and encourage both parents and young people to understand and consider their family members' needs.

This is a part time (22.5 hours per week), permanent opportunity working across Rockingham and Kwinana. The work pattern for this position will be Monday (8:30 am to 4:30 pm), Wednesday (10:00 am to 06:00 pm), and a third day to be agreed.

What you will bring

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary degree (4 years) in Social Work, Psychology, Social Science, Counselling or other related discipline
  • Counselling experience with adolescent and family counselling
  • Great interpersonal, rapport building and communication skills
  • Personal centred, strength based and trauma informed approach to your practice
  • Facilitation skills
  • Knowledge of current theories, trends, practice and literature relating to adolescent and family counselling

The successful candidate must possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year, a WA Working with Children Check and a WA Drivers Licence.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

  • Provides counselling to adolescents and their families, with attention to, and inclusion of, wider contextual networks (peers. school personnel) as relevant
  • Maintain professional notes
  • Assist in the promotion and delivery of community training programs on adolescent/family relationships issues
  • Ensure that a culturally appropriate customer service perspective is reflected in all aspects of the service

  • A competitive salary from $99,469 per annum (pro rata) + 12% superannuation
  • Salary packaging of up to $15,900 (which equates to circa $4K after tax)
  • Additional 3 days leave pro rata per year over festive period
