We are seeking a n Aquatic Ecologist Consultant to join our Ecology team, working out of our thriving Brisbane office.
This role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:
- Conducting successful field visits by u sing your experience in undertaking aquatic field investigations, including biological and water quality sampling, habitat assessments and operation of field equipment
- Competently using the relevant field equipment, digital data collection platforms and business systems required to perform the role
- Using strong analytical skills, including the interpretation of ecological and water quality datasets with software such as a Microsoft Excel, GIS platforms and statistical analysis tools
Preparing high-quality technical reports, environmental impact assessments, monitoring reports and client proposals
Your Expertise and Skills

- 2 – 5 years of relevant experience in an aquatic ecology role
- Tertiary qualifications in aquatic ecology, ecology, environmental science, marine science or a related discipline
- Professional accreditation (e.g. AUSRIVAS accreditation) highly regarded
- Demonstrated knowledge of aquatic ecology, freshwater ecosystems, hydrology, water quality, and aquatic biodiversity, with the ability to apply ecological principles to environmental assessment and management
- Sound understanding of Commonwealth, State and local environmental legislation, policies and guidelines relevant to aquatic ecology, particularly within Queensland
A current Australian driver's licence and willingness to undertake fieldwork, including travel to remote locations
