Permanent People & Culture Manager position with a well-known global organisation.

Hays has partnered with a leading organisation within the industrial sector is seeking an experienced People & Culture Manager. This role is to partner with operational leaders across Queensland and drive key people initiatives across a large, workforce-driven environment.

Your new role

This is a great opportunity to join a complex and fast-paced business where you will play a key role in workforce strategy, talent development, change management and operational HR delivery. Reporting to the People & Culture Director, you will partner closely with leaders while leading a small team and supporting a diverse workforce.

In this broad business partnering position, you will:

  • Partner with operational leaders to deliver strategic and operational HR outcomes.
  • Provide expert advice across employee relations, performance management and workforce planning.
  • Lead and support organisational change initiatives.
  • Coach and develop leaders on people management best practice.
  • Support workforce capability, retention and succession planning activities.
  • Partner with specialist teams across recruitment, learning and development, and industrial relations.
  • Manage investigations, performance matters and employee relations issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across people processes and systems.
  • Maintain strong stakeholder relationships across operations, leadership teams and workforce representatives.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Significant experience in a People & Culture Manager, HR Business Partner or senior HR leadership position.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with operational and frontline workforces.
  • Strong employee and industrial relations capability.
  • Experience working within unionised and blue-collar environments.
  • Proven ability to influence and coach senior stakeholders.
  • Strong HR systems knowledge and experience driving process improvement.
  • Sound understanding of Australian employment legislation and contemporary HR practices.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Organisational Psychology or a related discipline.
