Precision OMS is a well established Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery practice in Geelong, owned and operated by Mr Richard Wood since 2010. We’re looking for a motivated and compassionate Surgical Dental Assistant to join our small, friendly team on a permanent basis.

This is a genuine opportunity to develop specialist skills across a diverse range of advanced surgical and hospital-based cases.

Role Description

The Oral Surgery Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Geelong, VIC. Working closely with our surgeon across our consulting rooms and accredited private hospitals, you’ll provide high-quality clinical support before, during and after surgery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Chairside assistance during oral and maxillafacial surgical procedures (local anaesthetic, IV sedation and general anaesthetic

.

  • Preparing treatment rooms and maintaining surgical instruments and equipment
  • Infection prevention and control to the highest standards
  • Providing post-operative instructions and patient education
  • Clinical photography and intraoral scanning prior to procedures
  • OPG and Cone Beam CT (CBCT) imaging (for applicants with Cert IV - Dental Radiography)
  • Collaborating with our clinical and admin team to deliver outstanding patient care

Procedures You’ll Work Across

  • Dental implant surgery, including All-on-4 full-arch rehabilitation
  • Wisdom teeth remova
  • lCorrective jaw (orthognathic) surger
  • yBone grafting and oral reconstructive procedure
  • sExposure of impact teeth and other dentoalveolar surgery

About Yo

u

  • Certificate III in Dental Assisting
  • Certificate IV in Dental Assisting - Dental Radiography
  • Registered Nurse (RN) with an interest in surgical assisting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational abilit
