About the role
As our new Investment Tax Manager, you'll be part of the Finance team, reporting to the Senior Manager Tax. Your mission? To provide specialist investment tax advice that supports strong investment outcomes for our members, while ensuring robust governance and compliance across our domestic and international investment activities.
You will:
- Provide expert tax advice across a diverse range of asset classes including infrastructure, property, private equity, fixed income, credit and listed equities
- Advise on the tax implications of new investments, restructures, disposals, and mandates
- Undertake tax due diligence and assess complex investment structures (trusts, partnerships, stapled structures and offshore vehicles)
- Partner closely with Investments, Legal, Risk, Operations and external advisors on transaction execution
- Maintain and enhance tax governance frameworks and proactively identify emerging tax risks
- Support regulatory reviews, audits, and preparation of tax insights for senior stakeholders and governance forums
- Review tax reporting outputs from custodians and investment managers
- Translate complex tax concepts into clear, commercial advice and build capability across investment team
What we're looking for

You'll thrive in this role if you have:
- Significant Australian tax experience within superannuation, asset management, institutional investment environments or Big 4 professional services
- Strong technical knowledge of Australian income tax, investment structuring and international tax concepts
- Proven experience advising on complex investment transactions and structures
- Excellent analytical thinking and the ability to balance technical rigour with commercial outcomes
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and build trusted relationships
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce, Law or a related discipline, along with CA, CPA and/or a Masters of Tax
- Experience working with Regulators and the ATO.
