Our client is a specialist façade contractor delivering high-quality building envelope solutions across commercial, residential, mixed-use, education, healthcare, and landmark construction projects throughout Victoria.

With a strong pipeline of secured work and continued business growth, they are seeking an experienced

Facade Detailer / BIM Modeller to join their technical design team. This position will suit a candidate from a façade, architectural, structural steel, curtain wall, cladding, glazing, or building envelope background who enjoys working closely with project teams to develop accurate and buildable façade solutions.

The Opportunity

Working alongside the Design Manager, Project Managers, Engineers, and Manufacturing teams, you will be responsible for producing detailed façade models, shop drawings, and technical documentation from concept through to fabrication and installation.

This is a hands-on technical role requiring strong BIM and detailing capability, with particular emphasis on Revit, AutoCAD, and Tekla.

You will play a key role in ensuring design intent is translated into accurate, coordinated, and manufacturable façade systems for delivery on site.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed 3D BIM models for façade and building envelope systems.
• Produce shop drawings, fabrication drawings, installation drawings, and construction documentation.
• Create detailed curtain wall, window wall, cladding, glazing, louvre, screening, and architectural façade packages.
• Coordinate design information with architects, builders, consultants, structural engineers, and subcontractors.
• Review architectural and engineering drawings to identify clashes, discrepancies, and constructability issues.
• Participate in BIM coordination meetings and model reviews.
• Generate accurate schedules, quantities, and material take-offs from models.
• Ensure compliance with relevant Australian Standards, project specifications, and client requirements.
• Support project teams throughout design, procurement, fabrication, and installation stages.
• Assist in the development and implementation of BIM and modelling best practices.
• Coordinate revisions and manage drawing registers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Work closely with manufacturing and installation teams to ensure efficient project delivery.

Required Experience

• Previous experience in a façade detailing, BIM modelling, design drafting, or technical design role.
• Proven experience within the façade, curtain wall, glazing, cladding, architectural metalwork, or building envelope industry.
• Strong proficiency using: AutoCAD, Revit, & Tekla Structures
• Experience producing fabrication and shop drawings.
• Strong understanding of façade construction methodologies and detailing principles.
• Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and engineering documentation.
• Experience coordinating projects within a BIM environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and technical problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Highly Regarded

• Experience with aluminium façade systems.
• Curtain wall and window wall detailing experience.
• Knowledge of glazing systems and façade engineering principles.
• Exposure to commercial high-rise construction projects.
• Experience working with fabrication or manufacturing environments.
• Understanding of Australian façade compliance requirements and relevant building codes.
