$602.55 + Super per day

We're seeking an experienced EL1 Assistant Director - Program Risk to join a major Federal Government transformation program. This role will see you leading assurance and governance activities across a large-scale reform initiative, ensuring program risks are effectively managed, audit readiness is maintained, and senior executives have the insights they need to make informed decisions.

About the Role

Working closely with senior stakeholders, delivery teams and external assurance providers, you'll coordinate assurance activities, oversee governance processes and provide high-quality reporting that supports effective program delivery.

Key responsibilities include

  • Coordinating internal, external and independent assurance activities across a complex program
  • Developing and maintaining assurance plans, schedules and governance reporting
  • Managing evidence collection and supporting audit and assurance engagements
  • Analysing assurance findings, risks and recommendations to identify trends and areas requiring attention
  • Preparing executive briefings, committee papers and senior leadership reporting
  • Maintaining assurance registers and tracking remediation actions through to completion
  • Driving continuous improvement of assurance frameworks, processes and reporting tools

About You

  • Experience delivering assurance, governance, risk or audit functions within Federal Government or other highly regulated environments
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex information and provide meaningful recommendations
  • Experience preparing executive-level reports, committee papers and governance documentation
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to work across multiple business areas
  • Exceptional organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Experience supporting major transformation, reform or enterprise-wide programs
