About The Role

What if your deep expertise in machine learning could directly influence how the world's most advanced AI systems reason through complex problems? We're looking for Senior Machine Learning Experts to author high-fidelity reasoning traces — the structured, step-by-step records that teach LLMs how to plan, use tools, and make reliable decisions in real-world scenarios.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for senior practitioners who understand model behavior at a deep level and can translate that understanding into training data that genuinely moves the needle.

What You'll Do

• Author complex, high-fidelity reasoning traces for sophisticated technical tasks — capturing planning, tool use, and step-by-step decision making in precise detail
• Design and document structured traces that reflect expert-level architectural thinking and problem decomposition
• Review and mentor reasoning trace quality to ensure consistency, logical rigor, and optimal documentation of model decision pathways
• Develop data strategies that help LLMs navigate intricate, multi-step real-world scenarios with greater reliability
• Collaborate asynchronously with a global team working at the frontier of AI development

Who You Are

• Experienced machine learning practitioner with significant hands-on expertise in model reasoning, evaluation, or training
• Skilled at decomposing complex, multi-step problems into clear, logical, documented processes
• Deep familiarity with how LLMs work — including their failure modes, reasoning patterns, and decision-making behaviors
• Strong written communicator who can produce structured, precise technical documentation
• Self-directed and comfortable delivering high-quality work independently

Nice to Have

• Prior experience with data annotation, data quality assurance, or model evaluation systems
• Top-tier Kaggle competition results (Grandmaster or Master level) demonstrating elite understanding of model performance and feature engineering
• Experience designing or auditing training data pipelines for large-scale ML systems
• Background in applied AI research or production ML engineering
