Senior Psychologist - Allied Health Practitioner

The Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic Senior Allied Health Practitioner (Psychology) to join the CESA Inclusive Learning Through Allied Health (CILAH) program in a part-time (0.8 FTE), permanent role.

Working across designated schools, you will deliver both direct and indirect services to support student learning, wellbeing and inclusion. You will partner closely with principals, educators, families and system stakeholders to ensure services are responsive, practical and aligned to school and student needs, while working as part of a multidisciplinary allied health team.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to an expanding, system-wide initiative, supporting improved access, participation and engagement for students through evidence-based, inclusive practices.

As an experienced practitioner, you will apply advanced psychological expertise, contribute to continuous improvement, and support high-quality service delivery within a collaborative and professional team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct and interpret psychological assessments to identify student needs, strengths and barriers to learning, providing clear recommendations and support strategies.
  • Develop evidence-informed psychological formulations and strategies to support student wellbeing, behaviour, regulation and engagement.
  • Design, implement and evaluate targeted interventions across individual, group and whole-class settings to enhance inclusion and participation.
  • Provide consultation, coaching and professional learning to educators to strengthen understanding of factors impacting learning and inclusive practice.
  • Collaborate with school leaders, staff, families and external professionals to deliver coordinated and holistic supports for students.
  • Contribute to whole-school approaches and continuous improvement through service development, evaluation and strengthening multi-tiered supports.

About You

The successful applicant will demonstrate the following:

  • You are enthusiastic about allied health professionals, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • You are dedicated to improving learning and wellbeing outcomes for students, particularly those with disabilities, and have a deep understanding of the challenges they face.
  • Significant experience in allied health, with a strong clinical background in the psychology discipline.
  • You are committed to achieving goals and meeting key performance indicators, ensuring the CILAH program contributes positively to CESA’s objectives.
  • Hold relevant tertiary qualifications in psychology.
  • General registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Psychology Board.
  • Area of practice endorsement in Clinical/Ed and Dev/Neuro desirable.
