Backed by leading VC funds EVP, Spectrum Equity, and Athletic Ventures we have recently announced a record-breaking $46M Series A raise - the largest Series A of any South Australian SaaS company ever. We’re growing fast and investing in our product, our people, and our global growth.

The Role

You're a seasoned engineer who's stepped into leadership and found that helping others grow is just as rewarding as shipping great code. You know how to hold the line on technical quality without slowing a team down, and you're comfortable in the space between engineering and product, translating between both worlds fluently. You care deeply about the people you lead and the systems they build.

At splose, you'll lead a product delivery team through the full cycle of building software that matters. You'll be the connective tissue between engineering rigour and product ambition, ensuring your team has the direction, support, and practices they need to do their best work. This is a line management role with real technical accountability: you'll deliver at a senior engineering level while providing high-leverage leadership through coaching, mentoring, and developing the engineers in your team.

What You'll Do

  • Lead a high-performing engineering team, owning team health, engagement, and the career growth of your direct reports
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight on architectural decisions, system design, and engineering trade-offs
  • Drive delivery by setting clear goals, managing scope, and removing blockers so the team can ship high-quality features reliably
  • Partner with product managers and designers to shape roadmaps and prioritise work, balancing customer value with technical health
  • Foster a culture of trust, accountability, and continuous improvement, with strong practices across code quality, testing, deployment, and operational excellence
  • Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives that improve developer experience, system reliability, and the organisation's ability to scale
  • Communicate priorities, risks, and progress clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

What We’re Looking For

  • Several years of software engineering experience, followed by a move into engineering management or a team lead role
  • Proven ability to deliver software at scale in a fast-moving, collaborative environment
  • Experience balancing short-term delivery with long-term technical health
  • Solid software engineering fundamentals, with the ability to understand and review technical designs and trade-offs
  • Knowledge of modern development practices including CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, and cloud infrastructure
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge engineering, product, and business perspectives
  • Track record of building trust across teams and stakeholders
  • Relevant university degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience in SaaS or cloud-native architectures
  • Familiarity with agile and product-led engineering practices
  • Background in driving organisational improvements, from hiring processes to technical governance
  • Experience guiding teams through complex architectural decisions and system design challenges
