About The Company
My client is a nationally recognised residential builder-developer delivering Class 1 integrated housing and retirement living projects across NSW, VIC and QLD. Their NSW business has experienced significant growth since its establishment in 2015 and continues to secure projects with some of Australia's leading developers. With a healthy pipeline of work and approximately 300 site starts planned this financial year, they offer long-term career stability, excellent project exposure and genuine opportunities for progression.
The Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will work alongside an experienced Senior Project Manager and two other Project Managers to oversee the complete lifecycle of residential projects, from tender through to completion. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior to intermediate Project Manager looking to take the next step in their career while working on high-profile residential and retirement living developments.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Managing projects from tender award through design, procurement and construction delivery
- Coordinating early contractor involvement and tender processes
- Managing project budgets, forecasting, cost control and financial reporting
- Administering project variations and progress claims
- Identifying and mitigating project risks
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and key stakeholders
- Coordinating internal teams including Cost Planners, Estimators, Construction Managers and Site Supervisors
- Monitoring project programmes to ensure milestones and client expectations are achieved
- Driving quality assurance across all stages of project delivery
- Supporting safe work practices and ensuring compliance across projects
- Working collaboratively with senior leadership to improve project outcomes and client satisfaction
About You
This role is ideal for an ambitious Project Manager looking to further develop their career within a builder-developer environment.
To Be Successful You Will Have
- 2-3 years' experience as a Project Manager
- Previous experience delivering residential Class 1 housing projects for a head contractor
- Commercial construction experience will also be considered, provided you have demonstrated experience managing complex construction projects
- Client-side Project Management experience will be considered where supported by previous head contractor experience
- Strong technical construction knowledge
- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
- High emotional intelligence with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, programmes and project risks
- A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline will be highly regarded
