We are currently seeking a suitably qualified, reliable and motivated Chef to manage the kitchen and preparation of meals at our 60-bed site, Bethanie Joondanna Aged Care Home.
Bethanie Joondanna is located in Joondanna, where meals are cooked fresh on-site every day.
We are offering this role on a permanent, part time basis working Thursdays and Fridays week one, and Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday week two.
To be successful in this role, you will be a team player and a people person, someone who enjoys engaging with residents and working collaboratively with the kitchen and wider care team to create enjoyable dining experiences.
About You
- Reliable, organised and able to work well within a team
- Minimum requirement of a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
- Some experience with baking (cakes, biscuits, special events items)
- Confident, respectful communicator
- Comfortable with stock maintenance and ordering processes
- Experience with EPICOR is highly regarded
- Willingness to obtain relevant vaccinations
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or National Police Clearance (or willingness to apply for one)
The Role
- Prepare fresh, nutritious melas daily in line with menu requirements and resident needs
- Contribute to innovative, creative dishes, particularly for special occasions such as themed meals and celebrations
- Engage with residents, listen to feedback and incorporate meal suggestions into menu planning
- Stock control and kitchen supply management including ordering through internal systems
- Maintain food safety, hygiene and workplace standards at all times
- Undertake responsibility of daily food safe documentation and ensure compliance is met
