Description & Requirements
Being in a business support role at Australia Post means helping our people deliver for every Australian. Just like our Posties, you’re still the people behind every parcel. Whatever your team or role, you’re helping grow our people, grow our business and making a lasting impact on the Australian community. You’ll find a culture of connection in our great people and the flexibility to balance work with life outside of it.
About the opportunity
As Finance Manager, Retail, Brand & Marketing, you will partner closely with General Managers, acting as a trusted adviser to deliver end-to-end strategic, commercial and financial leadership across the division.
Leading a team of Finance Business Partners, you will oversee budgeting, forecasting, reporting, investment appraisal and performance analysis in a complex, multi-channel retail environment, while collaborating cross-functionally to drive commercial outcomes and continuous improvement.
You will translate the Post30 strategy into actionable plans, optimise product profitability and provide financial oversight of Australia Post’s national retail network to support performance, efficiency and long-term growth.
You’ll also
- Provide commercial advice to Senior Leaders and General Managers, offering insights on profitability, network performance, pricing and investments to drive value.
- Improve financial processes, reporting, and analysis to deliver faster, more accurate, and relevant insights.
- Use data, analytics, and digital tools (e.g. Power BI, SAP, Power Platform) to strengthen reporting, modelling, and decision support.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and planning, ensuring alignment with financial targets and accountability for outcomes.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and grow revenue while supporting Australia Post’s commercial and public objectives.
About you
You are a commercially minded leader who thrives in complex environments and brings a forward-thinking, change-oriented mindset. With the ability to influence and partner with senior stakeholders, you drive alignment across mindset, culture and ways of working to enable meaningful transformation. You are confident leading and embedding change, challenging traditional thinking and bringing others on the journey to deliver sustainable outcomes.
You’ll also
- Bring a minimum of 10 years’ progressive experience in finance, with significant depth in commercial finance, FP&A and finance business partnering within large, complex organisations.
- Demonstrate a proven track record of leading financial planning, P&L management and commercial advisory across multiple business lines or portfolios, with measurable impact on strategic decision-making and business performance.
- Have experience delivering against commercial KPIs, leading transformation or continuous improvement initiatives, and building high-performing finance teams in environments of significant change.
- Bring advanced capability in financial modelling, scenario analysis and business case development.
- Interpret and synthesise operational, financial and customer data from multiple sources to inform strategic decisions and drive commercial outcomes.
What else is in it for you?
- Bring your whole self to work every day and be met by a welcoming bunch of people who respect and support you
- Flexible and hybrid working arrangements, like the opportunity to work from home two days per week
- Opportunities for growth and development through formal programs or mentorship
- Exclusive team member discounts and offers for more cash in your pocket, evolving policies for flexible working, leave types and access to health and wellbeing resources
All walks, one route
It takes a lot of us to deliver for every Australian – and it’s important to us that our people behind the parcels reflect the people receiving them. We come from all walks. Different backgrounds, different ages, different genders, different sexualities and different abilities, but we all believe in the same purpose.
We welcome people all ages, genders and backgrounds – including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disability, LGBTQIA+ communities, and refugees. We’re a Disability Confident Recruiter, committed to making our hiring process and workplace inclusive and barrier-free. We’re also working hard to remove bias and build a gender-equitable experience for everyone who joins us. If you’ve got questions about accessibility, reach out to our Diversity & Inclusion team at [email protected] or on 03 8737 9415.
