Our Projects and Development Services (PDS) team provide corporate and institutional clients with the management of design, construction, and relocation services to minimise risk and eliminate unnecessary cost. Projects range from greenfield developments to major fit outs and refurbishments, from single one-off projects to state, national multi-site and regional roll-out projects requiring consistent nationwide delivery. As one of the largest project management firms in Australia with a team of over 320 professional staff, we operate in sectors including commercial, industrial, education, data centres, hotels, retail, and defence.

About the role

As the Senior Project Manager, you will play a leading role working with our National Industrial Sector Lead in securing and retaining work with both existing and new industrial sector clients, including occupiers and landlords, at local and national levels. You'll develop new and strategic business opportunities by leveraging a strong network of contacts and relationships within the industrial sectors. On complex projects, you'll take full ownership of all project phases, from initial establishment through to handover and closure. This role demands coordinated leadership and strategic thinking to maximise stakeholder contributions and drive optimal outcomes for all parties involved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and implement effective organisational structures for reporting, communication and working procedures within each project
  • Assemble and lead consultants, contractors and suppliers to achieve optimal performance across the project team
  • Identify and mitigate project risks proactively to ensure successful delivery outcomes
  • Represent the client's best interests from project inception through to completion
  • Establish and maintain positive client relationships that support retention and repeat business
  • Secure and retain work with existing and new industrial sector clients, including occupiers and landlords, at local and national levels
  • Develop new business opportunities by building and leveraging a strong network of contacts within the industrial sector
  • Target and generate revenue from local landlords and new industrial sector clients
  • Promote JLL capabilities to key prospects with the expressed purpose of expanding the client base
  • Develop cross-functional relationships with other JLL business lines including leasing, sustainability, valuations and workplace design
  • Leverage internal partnerships to deliver integrated solutions and identify new opportunities

About You

  • A degree in a relevant Project or Construction Management related discipline or related field with 7 years' experience
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Microsoft Project and experience in managing cost reporting systems
  • Strong understanding of the legal environment for projects in respect of planning, commercial aspects and delivery constraints
  • Proven ability to carry out commercial negotiations with contractors, suppliers, consultants and authorities within established limits of authority
