About the Opportunity

We are currently seeking an Accident & Health Underwriter to join our team in Sydney.

This role will join a successful team and support the delivery of superior underwriting services within AHI’s Sales and Distribution Department.

• Quote and bind new business opportunities

• Managing existing and cultivating new meaningful business relationships

• Regularly review and procure new pipeline opportunities

• Manage the AHI value proposition within the roles key broker panel

• Negotiate and prepare policy renewals independently

• Underwrite A&H risks independently and autonomously

• Underwrite and price risk to deliver sustainable profits

• Accurately maintain system and reporting requirements

• Maintain diligent service levels both internally and externally

• Follow-up correct documentation from brokers (placing slips, closings)

• Develop and enhance business relationships with brokers and clients

• Understanding key control issues/risks and escalate through the appropriate channel

• Attend networking events and Broker/Industry functions (as and when required)

About You

As our preferred candidate, you will have:

• More than 1-3 years Underwriting experience

• Ability to confidently communicate to internal and external stakeholders

• Demonstrate a professional business approach and present well to stakeholders

• Possess strong time management skills and an ability to work both within team and autonomously

• Ability to build rapport and effectively communicate both with internal and external stakeholders

• Ability to collate and analyse information with attention to detail and accuracy

• Willingness to learn, ask questions and be curious.

• Have a good understanding of CRM programs and MS Office

• Hold a degree in Business, Finance or other relevant degree
