Operations Manager

About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager, the Operations Manager is responsible for leading production, logistics, and purchasing to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations.

You will oversee plant performance, optimise resources, and deliver on customer commitments while leading a small, hands-on team of 4 production staff. This is a highly autonomous and hands-on role, where you will be actively involved on the floor, supporting operations, solving real-time issues, and driving continuous improvement across safety, quality, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead safe operations aligned with VENTORA EHS standards
• Manage a small team of 4 production employees
• Take a hands-on approach to day-to-day operations
• Oversee production, logistics, and purchasing functions
• Develop production schedules to meet demand and deadlines
• Monitor output, quality, and performance metrics
• Drive continuous improvement and waste reduction initiatives
• Manage inventory levels and supply chain coordination
• Overseeing the maintenance to reduce downtime

About You

• Proven leadership experience in manufacturing
• Experience leading small, hands-on teams
• Comfortable working autonomously with full accountability
• Willing to be hands-on and present on the production floor
• Strong background in production planning and operations
• Experience with safety, quality, and compliance
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Exposure to building products or a similar industry is advantageous
