About The Role

As part of the Customer team, the Authorised Officer Crew Leader is responsible for providing on shift supervision and mentoring to Authorised Officers while supporting the Team Leader in administering the Authorised Officer Management System

  • Performing Authorised Officer duties
  • Delivering on the job training to Authorised Officers
  • Assisting the Team Leader and Manager – Authorised Officers as required

The role works closely with V/Line management to ensure customers experience a safe and trouble free journey and contributes to the development and implementation of operational and customer service initiatives.

Key accountabilities include

  • Provide on shift supervision to ensure efficient and proactive coordination of Authorised Officers.
  • Support the training and mentoring of Authorised Officers.
  • Assist with investigations and conduct debriefs as needed.
  • Prepare timely reports on security and anti social behaviour incidents for Executive Security Management meetings.
  • Perform fare compliance supervision and assist in incident, emergency, and disruption response.
  • Support management in meeting targets outlined in the Annual Revenue Protection Plan.
  • Monitor the quality of statements, documentation, and evidence to support successful prosecutions.
  • Maintain high standards of legal documentation and evidence management.
  • Assist Team Leaders with managing performance and behavioural matters.
  • Foster a respectful, inclusive, and professional team culture.

About You

The Crew Leader supports Authorised Officers in meeting their obligations to deter anti social behaviour, crime, vandalism, and fare evasion through a visible presence and accurate reporting under the Victorian Transport Act and Regulations.

Employees may also be required to undertake additional duties aligned with their classification, skills, and capabilities. As a requirement of this position, individuals must be Accredited as a Public Transport Authorised Officer within Victoria.

Our ideal candidate will possess the following

  • Accredited as a Public Transport Authorised Officer within Victoria
  • Certificate III in Customer Service and Compliance
  • Valid First Aid – Level 2
  • Experience in dealing with difficult / confrontational situations
