Equipment & Calibration Technician

Working at ATCO Gas, you’ll play a key role in maintaining our equipment, tools and specialised gear to support safe and reliable gas network operations.

The Equipment & Calibration Technician is responsible for managing the equipment shed, including inspection, maintenance and calibration of tools used across the gas distribution system. You’ll also get hands-on with occasional fitting and assembly work across pipes, meter sets, regulator sets and other infrastructure, ensuring everything is delivered to the highest safety and quality standards.

• Maintain, inspect and calibrate equipment, tools and systems to support safe and reliable field operations
• Deliver fitting and assembly work safely, efficiently and in line with technical standards and procedures
• Provide practical technical support and advice to field teams and contractors
• Keep accurate, up-to-date records and asset information while ensuring compliance with relevant requirements
• Build strong working relationships, contribute to a positive team culture and proactively manage safety and operational risks

What You’ll Bring

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting, Gas Fitting, Outdoor Power Equipment Technology or similar (preferred)
• Current driver’s licence
• Relevant tickets/licences (e.g. forklift, HIAB)
• Electrical test and tag competency (desirable)
• Calibration or instrumentation experience (desirable)

Experience

• Experience in fitting and assembly within gas, utilities, construction or maintenance environments
• Strong hands-on experience with tools, equipment and specialised apparatus
• Exposure to calibration, inspection and asset maintenance activities
• Solid understanding of safe work practices, risk management and compliance
• Experience working with field crews, contractors and stakeholders
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage records and documentation accurately
