Data Centre Solution Consultant

As part of our growth initiative, we are looking to hire a Data Centre Solution Consultant to provide technical leadership and advisory support to sales, consultants, and end customers throughout the pre ‑ sales lifecycle. The role drives early engagement, conceptual solution development, and thought leadership across data centre power systems, ensuring Eaton is positioned as a trusted advisor.

This role bridges Sales, Engineering, and Bid teams by translating customer requirements into technically robust, commercially viable, and innovative solutions that enhance win probability and strengthen Eaton’s market position in the data centre sector.

Key Duties

• Provide technical expertise to sales, consultants, developers, and end users on data centre power infrastructure solutions.
• Develop conceptual designs, system architectures, and solution strategies aligned to customer requirements.
• Develop high ‑ level designs covering UPS and DC back up power, MV/LV distribution and switchgear, power monitoring and integrated solutions.
• Identify optimisation opportunities balancing performance, cost, scalability, and sustainability.
• Develop a deep understanding of Eaton’s full portfolio, including core and adjacent offerings, to identify opportunities to expand value into the data centre segment.
• Drive market share by expanding Eaton’s scope within data centre projects through portfolio-led solution positioning.
• Proactively identify and position non-traditional or emerging solutions (e.g., modular, prefabricated, containment, integrated systems such as ARCON-type solutions) to address evolving customer needs.
• Translate Eaton’s capabilities into integrated, end-to-end solution architectures that go beyond individual product lines.
• Deliver industry education sessions, including lunch-and-learn events, seminars, and workshops.
• Act as a technical bridge between Sales and Bid/Proposal teams.
• Provide guidance to ensure technical consistency and differentiation in proposals.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical infrastructure, preferably in data centres, critical power, or similar sectors.
• Strong knowledge of data centre power systems (UPS, generators, MV/LV distribution, switchgear, Building Management Systems).
• Understanding of relevant standards (AS/NZS, IEC, Tier classifications, etc.).
• Familiarity with integrated or modular (prefabricated) data centre solutions is advantageous.
• Experience in pre-sales, solution design, or consulting roles.
• Excellent communication and presentation capabilities.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into customer-focused solutions.
• Tertiary qualifications in electrical engineering or related discipline
