ACEREZ, a partnership of ACCIONA, COBRA and Endeavour Energy, has been appointed network operator by EnergyCo to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) transmission network. The ACCIONA COBRA Joint Venture (ACJV), the design and construct (D&C) consortium, will design and build the Central-West Orana REZ transmission project.

The new transmission network infrastructure will deliver at least 4.5 gigawatts of new network capacity from 2028 to connect 7.7 gigawatts of wind and solar projects, which is enough to power more than 2 million homes each year.

Our Central-West Orana REZ Transmission Project is currently seeking experienced Leading Hand Linesmen to lead field crews and deliver overhead transmission line construction works across the project.

This is a remote project position operating on a 14 days on / 7 days off roster. Bus transport is currently provided from Sydney only, with various pick-up and drop-off locations between Sydney and the Mudgee region.

Applicants located within NSW outside the Sydney transport route will be required to DIDO (Drive In Drive Out) at their own expense. Please note this is not a FIFO role, and candidates residing outside NSW will be required to arrange and fund their own travel to Sydney or the site if successful.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading and supervising crews in the construction of overhead transmission lines
  • Coordinating daily activities to ensure work is delivered safely, on time and to specification
  • Overseeing pole and structure erection, conductor stringing and associated works
  • Ensuring safe work practices and compliance with all project procedures and standards
  • Liaising with supervisors, engineers and other project stakeholders
  • Mentoring and supporting team members, ensuring high performance and safety culture
  • Participating in pre-starts, planning sessions and risk assessments

Minimum Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Linesman, with demonstrated leadership experience
  • Certificate III in ESI - Transmission Overhead (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in overhead transmission line construction
  • Experience in renewable energy projects highly desirable
  • Current EWP, Working at Heights and First Aid certifications
  • Additional tickets (dogging, rigging) highly desirable
  • Full C Class driver's licence at minimum
  • Construction White Card
  • Own vehicle
  • Willing to undertake a pre-employment medical and police check
