The opportunity

Join Council in a key role shaping how people move safely and efficiently across the community. As a Senior Traffic and Transport Engineer, you’ll bring your technical expertise and customer-first mindset to deliver smart, sustainable transport solutions - working closely with residents, stakeholders and major infrastructure partners to improve the local network and create lasting impact.

What you’ll do

  • Lead traffic and transport capital works projects from concept to approved design
  • Review and endorse traffic management plans and heavy vehicle permits
  • Provide expert advice on planning referrals and transport-related matters
  • Investigate community traffic concerns and develop practical solutions
  • Collaborate with internal teams, government agencies and major project stakeholders

What you need to succeed

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering (or related field)
  • Registered Engineer (or eligible for National Engineering Register)
  • Strong experience in traffic and transport planning or engineering
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with design capability
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Pre-Employment Requirements

Progressed candidates will be required to complete a National Police Record Check, Candidates must also hold a valid Victorian Driver's License.
