The opportunity

Join Council in a key role shaping how people move safely and efficiently across the community. As a Senior Traffic and Transport Engineer, you’ll bring your technical expertise and customer-first mindset to deliver smart, sustainable transport solutions - working closely with residents, stakeholders and major infrastructure partners to improve the local network and create lasting impact.

What you’ll do

Lead traffic and transport capital works projects from concept to approved design
Review and endorse traffic management plans and heavy vehicle permits
Provide expert advice on planning referrals and transport-related matters
Investigate community traffic concerns and develop practical solutions
Collaborate with internal teams, government agencies and major project stakeholders

What you need to succeed

Tertiary qualification in Engineering (or related field)
Registered Engineer (or eligible for National Engineering Register)
Strong experience in traffic and transport planning or engineering
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with design capability
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Pre-Employment Requirements

Progressed candidates will be required to complete a National Police Record Check, Candidates must also hold a valid Victorian Driver's License.
