About the opportunity

The Test Portfolio Manag er is accountable for leading and governing testing across a portfolio of programs and platforms within Enterprise Services. The role ensures testing capability is aligned to enterprise strategy, delivery priorities, and quality standards, enabling the successful and efficient delivery of technology initiatives at scale. The Test Portfolio Manager acts as the key interface between delivery, product, and engineering teams, ensuring high-quality outcomes through effective test strategy, resource optimisation, and risk management across the portfolio.

This role involves developing a high-performing testing capability, including Test Managers and external partners. To do this you will build capability in automation, quality engineering, and modern testing practices as well as fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. It is an exciting time to join our Corporate & Core Technology team and this role contributes to the broader Enterprise Servicees Transformaiton initiatives including our SAP Modernisation Program and our Customer Experience Transformation.

Portfolio Strategy & Governance

  • Define and execute the portfolio testing strategy, ensuring alignment to Enterprise Services delivery priorities and standards
  • Provide governance and oversight of all testing activities across the portfolio
  • Ensure consistent adoption of test frameworks, tools, and methodologies (e.g., Agile, DevOps, automation-first approaches)
  • Drive standardisation and continuous improvement of testing practices across programs

Delivery & Execution

  • Oversee the end-to-end testing lifecycle across multiple programs, including planning, execution and reporting
  • Ensure testing activities are aligned to delivery roadmaps, funding, and sequencing decisions
  • Manage interdependencies across programs and ensure integrated testing across platforms and domains
  • Provide assurance that releases meet quality, risk, and performance expectations

Stakeholder Management

  • Head of Delivery
  • Portfolio Delivery Managers

  • Act as the primary point of contact for testing at portfolio level
  • Provide regular reporting and insights on quality, risk, and delivery readiness to senior stakeholders

Risk & Quality Management

  • Identify and manage portfolio-level testing risks and issues, ensuring timely resolution
  • Ensure appropriate quality gates, controls, and assurance mechanisms are in place
  • Drive defect management and root cause analysis across delivery teams
  • Maintain visibility of testing maturity and capability across the portfolio

About you

Ultimately we are looking for a leader to drive testing services to early involvement and collaboration to build quality in rather than the traditional detection approach. A key part of the role is educating stakeholders on the importance of smart testing strategies that adopts a risk and context-based approaches. Hence we are seeking someone who has experience training quality professionals to uplift standards and bring testing productivity in their testing approaches

You’ll also need

  • Background managing testing across multiple programs or portfolios within a large scale complex organisation
  • Experience leading Quality Analysts, Quality Architects and Quality Engineers
  • Strong experience in Agile, SDLC, Testing tools, Automation Frameworks, CI/CD pipelines Release Management, DevOps, and modern quality engineering practices
  • Experience implementing test automation and driving testing transformation initiatives
  • Proven ability to manage vendors, a distributed team, permanent and contractor resources
  • Extensive experience 10+ years in software testings with a focus on test management
  • Understanding of portfolio/program delivery models and also of risk, compliance, and quality assurance frameworks
