About the Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated Cook to deliver high-quality food services to our residents while providing kitchen and food preparation support to our Chef. This role is essential in ensuring nutritious, well-presented meals that meet the diverse needs of Residents in our care.

The positions are permanent, full time with a minimum of 38 hours a week with guaranteed minimum earnings (inclusive of allowances and penalties) no less than $ $79,499 per annum plus superannuation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take direction from the Chef and work collaboratively within the kitchen team

  • Plan, prepare, and present delicious, well-balanced, and nutritious meals for residents

  • Assist with general food preparation, kitchen duties, and stock control

  • Purchase and order food supplies and kitchen equipment as required

  • Ensure all food is prepared, cooked, and served in compliance with relevant legislation and food safety standards

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or higher

  • A minimum of one year’s experience in a commercial kitchen (aged care or hospital experience preferred)

  • Bulk cooking experience (highly desirable)

  • Experience preparing texture-modified meals ( advantageous )

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with residents, families, and colleagues
