Work Location: Perth Office - Fortescue's Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people. Ad hoc site travel as required.
Roster: Monday to Friday
The Principal Product Quality plays a critical role in improving product readiness by enhancing the quality, clarity, traceability and assurance of requirements across complex technology delivery programs. Working closely with internal teams and OEM partners, this hands-on role drives practical improvements that strengthen alignment between customer needs, operational outcomes and product delivery, while supporting Fortescue's transition to a mature product operating model.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive product readiness uplift activities that improve delivery confidence, release readiness and operational acceptance
- Review and improve functional, non-functional, operational, interface and safety-related requirements to ensure they are clear, testable and aligned to business outcomes
- Establish and maintain practical requirements governance, including standards, review processes, traceability and change control practices
- Improve traceability between requirements, design, testing and acceptance activities
- Support verification, validation and assurance activities to strengthen acceptance confidence and evidence-based decision making
- Facilitate readiness reviews and identify risks, gaps, dependencies and delivery blockers
- Partner with internal stakeholders and OEMs to align product scope, readiness expectations and acceptance criteria
- Lead workshops to resolve ambiguity, clarify responsibilities and improve cross-team coordination
- Develop frameworks, reporting and governance routines that improve requirements maturity and delivery transparency
- Contribute to the evolution of product management practices and support the transition towards a product operating model.
Qualifications and Experience
- Significant experience in requirements management, product quality, systems engineering or technology delivery environments
- Strong understanding of requirements development, governance, traceability and quality assurance practices
- Experience working with verification, validation and system assurance processes
- Demonstrated ability to improve product readiness and delivery outcomes across complex programs
- Strong systems thinking and the ability to create structure in ambiguous environments
- Experience engaging and influencing diverse stakeholders, including external partners and OEMs
- Proven facilitation, workshop leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Strong written communication skills with experience developing governance frameworks and reporting
- Ability to challenge constructively and influence outcomes without relying on formal authority
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering, technology, systems, product management or a related discipline are desirable.
