The 12D Civil Designer will play a key role in delivering high-quality road alignment designs while supporting multidisciplinary project teams. This role also contributes to design excellence, skills development, and the continuous improvement of Arup systems and practices.
The Opportunity
- Prepare road alignment designs and support senior designers across transport, energy, water, and site development projects for a variety of clients.
- Develop high-quality 3D models, technical drawings, and documentation using 12d Model and related tools.
- Deliver design outputs within agreed timeframes and project budgets, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Create and coordinate integrated design solutions using 3D models, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, codes, and road safety guidelines.
- Maintain quality assurance standards by adhering to Arup’s Quality Management System and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Is this role right for you?
- Hold a recognised and relevant tertiary qualification and a strong knowledge of road alignment design and familiarity with industry standards such as Austroads, TMR, and Australian Standards.
- Proven experience using 12d Model, BIM workflows, and design tools (e.g. CAD, Bluebeam, ProjectWise) to produce high-quality outputs.
- Demonstrated ability to work on complex, multidisciplinary projects, including coordination, clash detection, and design integration.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
- A commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
